The best way to improve reading is to read! It seems so simple, but if reading isn’t fun, then it’s just another chore that no one wants to bother with. Reading clubs will be 90 minute meetings, once a week for 4 weeks. Most of the reading will be done at home. Meetings will be focused on ensuring the fun of reading, encouraging and rewarding each person for completing the reading. We’ll talk about the book (comprehension), review vocabulary (reading level), do reader’s theatre (fluency), play a game or do a craft, all in a fun, active way that is guaranteed to not be boring. Book Clubs will meet at the SpiderWebb office. Groups must have a minimum of 3 students and will be capped at 8.
